Margaret A. Gissome, 35, of Belle Glade was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of child abuse.
A report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office notes that Gissome is accused of punching a child in the face for providing wrong answers to homework.
The child sustained visible injuries to her eyes and lip. Gissome is also accused of shaking the child.
Gissome was released from the Palm Beach County Jail Friday on $2,500 bond and was ordered not to have contact with the victim and no contact with minors, unless the parents are aware of the charge against her.
