Dixie County hit-and-run kills Old Town man

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is asking the public for help gathering information about a hit-and-run that killed a man in Dixie County.

According to FHP, a 35-year-old white man from Old Town was found dead on the east shoulder of SE 552nd Street around 8:45 a.m. Saturday. He was laying near the intersection with U.S. Highway 19, which is about halfway between Old Town and Cross City.

“Investigators are still attempting to determine exactly where the collision occurred,” FHP reported. “Currently the make and model of the vehicle involved is unknown.”

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the driver or vehicle involved to call the FHP Communications Center at 1-800-387-1290, or to call Crime Stoppers.
