Four-vehicle crash on Southwest Martin Highway leaves two people injured

A four vehicle crash on Southwest Martin Highway Wednesday morning injured two people, a Martin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

Fire rescue officials were called just after 8:15 a.m. to the crash in the 27000 block of Southwest Martin Highway, said Fire Rescue spokesperson Cory Pippin.

Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Laurie Weber said a pickup truck was eastbound on Southwest Martin Highway followed by two Sedans and another pickup truck, when it stopped for traffic trying to make a left turn.

The first pickup truck and the two Sedans were stopped when the second pickup truck, that was following too close to the Sedan in front of it, collided with the back of the car which resulted in all of the vehicles colliding with each other.

The drivers of the Sedans were taken to Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital with minor injuries. Both Sedans were towed from the scene due to no longer being drivable.
