A 38-year-old Hudson woman died, and three teenagers were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon on SR-52 in Dade City.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 38-year-old woman from Hudson was driving a Kia Forte eastbound on SR-52. At the intersection of Prospect Road, she attempted to turn left under a flashing yellow turn signal and collided with a westbound tractor-trailer driven by a 41-year-old Port Richey man.
The impact of the crash caused the Kia Forte to spin and roll over, resulting in serious injuries to the driver and her three daughters, ages 16, 14, and 13. Unfortunately, the driver died from her injuries at a local hospital.
The driver of the tractor-trailer also sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
