Springfield police are investigating a car accident Thursday night that sent a local man to the hospital.
He was hit while walking his dogs. The accident happened around 8:30 Thursday.
Springfield Assistant Police Chief Russell Voyles said the man was walking his two dogs when he was hit by a car on Douglas Road.
One of the dogs ran away. They are still searching for the puppy at this time.
Chief Voyles said witnesses saw a car in the area, an officer tracked the vehicle down. The female driver is facing DUI charges.
They are still investigating to see if this is the same driver that hit the pedestrian.
