Semitruck carrying beer overturns, blocks all southbound lanes on I-95 in St. Johns County

All southbound lanes on Interstate 95 near mile marker 328 from State Road 9B in St. Johns County are closed due to a multi-vehicle crash.

As of 9:30 p.m., lanes remained closed.

A semitruck carrying a truckload of Busch Beer overturned blocking all lanes, the St. Johns Fire Rescue said. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash on Friday around 6:15 p.m.

Traffic was backed up for miles as emergency crews worked to clean up the scene.

According to fire rescue, one person was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Road officials expect the highway to be shut down for several hours.

Traffic is being diverted to State Road 9B.
