Four people were seriously injured and hospitalized after a major crash in Cape Coral on Del Prado Boulevard South Monday morning.

According to the Cape Coral Police Department (CCPD), the crash happened around 11 a.m. and involved two cars; one with a man, woman, and three children. The other, a driver with no passengers.

CCPD said three of the four people hospitalized were children.

NBC2 spoke to a woman who works at the dermatology office next to where this happened. She said the kids looked to be very young and badly hurt.

The northbound lanes of Del Prado Blvd at Bolado Pkwy remained closed as of 5:25 p.m.

“I actually made a U-turn and came up and took the road that comes through the hospital I couldn’t get through there either because it was stuck,” said Graham Reedy.
