Authorities said the crash was reported at 4:20 a.m., after a 20-year-old Davie man jumped “from the center concrete barrier separating the southbound and northbound lanes” and started crossing I-95 northbound. The pedestrian was hit by a driver of a Honda Civic in the right lane of the Express Lanes, north of West Pembroke Road, FHP said.

A traffic crash on U.S. Highway 1 has closed the road in both directions near Southeast Tiffany Avenue. The Port St. Lucie Police Department says northbound U.S. 1 traffic must exit at Port St. Lucie Boulevard, and southbound U.S. 1 traffic must exit at Veterans Memorial Parkway. The department is asking travelers to avoid the area and use alternate routes while officers and emergency personnel work at the scene.
