A man was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after he was shot in the chest in Florida City, police said.
According to Florida City Police, officers received reports of a shooting that happened at 924 SW Sixth Place.
Once at the scene, the victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was alert as he was taken to Jackson South Trauma.
Police said the suspect was identified as a woman who fled the scene with a gun.
An investigation into the shooting remains active.
