1 at large after altercation leads to shooting in northwest Miami-Dade

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating an altercation that led to a shooting Tuesday morning in northwest Miami-Dade.

According to authorities, deputies responded to the area of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 119th Street around 5 a.m. after receiving a call about a battery.

Deputies said they discovered that two people had gotten into a verbal altercation before one person pulled out a bat and the other pulled out a gun.

Deputies said the person who was armed with the gun shot at a vehicle during the dispute, but no one was injured.

The person who fired the gun remains at large, authorities confirmed.

No other details were immediately released.
