Deputies in Orange County are searching for a suspect after a double stabbing at an office building on Lee Road on Monday night left one woman dead and another person critically injured.
Just after 9 p.m., deputies responded to the scene where they discovered a female with “significant injuries,” according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a second victim was also transported to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
The attack occurred during a large gathering inside the building, located near Adanson Street and west of I-4.
WESH 2 had a crew on the scene, where deputies said the suspect is still at large.
Witnesses described the chaotic scene as deputies arrived.
“I looked through the glass door, and I could see a big man with a red hoodie on and a woman next to him with a white shirt on, and I couldn’t see what was really going on,” a woman at the scene said. “They were just standing there, and then I saw all the cops coming, they were flying each way. And then going behind the building.”
Authorities have not yet explained the circumstances leading up to the stabbing or whether the victims and the suspect were connected to the group gathered at the office building.
The sheriff’s office has not released a description of the suspect, and the names of the victims are still being confirmed.
