One person is dead and another injured after an altercation at the Gulf View Square Mall led to a shooting early New Year’s Day.
According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened in the US 19 area of Port Richey around 12:30 a.m.
An investigation revealed that an altercation between two known people escalated, and gunfire was exchanged, PSO said.
The two people fled before law enforcement arrived and went to separate hospitals.
PSO said one of the adults died from their injuries.
