The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says one man is dead and one teen was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Lehigh Acres.
Investigators say around 7 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to 28th St SW in Lehigh Acres for reports of shots fired outside of a home.
NBC2 crews are on the scene at 28th Street Southwest where they say crime scene tape is still blocking off the area.
Crews say they saw investigators collecting shell casings from the roadway and a car was towed away from the scene.
NBC2 spoke with neighbors about what they saw when deputies first arrived.
“It’s blocked; I can’t go that way, cops all over the place on that side and I’ve gotta try to squeeze out of here to go pick up the wife, it’s crazy,” neighbor Jose Irizarry said. “That’s just wild to me I mean from what I’ve been hearing, there’s been a few shots fired.”
Deputies say homicide detectives will be out on the scene throughout the morning as the investigation continues.
