The Tampa Police Department is investigating a quadruple shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon.
According to Major ED, someone called the police after hearing gunshots in the area of 2600 E. 28th Avenue at around 1:40 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found three men who were shot. However, investigators later learned a fourth gunshot victim was also taken to a hospital before the police got to the scene.
One of the gunshot victims died at a local hospital while the other three were treated were “non-life threatening injuries,” according to police.
The four victims were described as men in their late 20s and early 30s, but no identities have been released.
At this time, the circumstances of the shooting are not entirely known as investigators work to find out what led to the violence through witness interviews and video evidence.
“Our detectives are following up on leads that were obtained here, but as always, we’re asking for information from anybody who may have been at this scene,” D said.
Those with information on the shooting can call Tampa police at 813-231-6130 or Crimestoppers of Tampa Bay at 800-873-8477.
