One person died and eight people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Blanding Boulevard in Keystone Heights, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m., on State Road 21 at County Road 352 and it involved three vehicles: a white sedan, a black pickup truck and a white minivan.

Officials said the pickup truck was heading south on SR-21 and the sedan was heading north.

Investigators said the van was in the parking lot of a gas station waiting to turn onto SR-21.

FHP said the pickup truck made a left turn in the sedan’s path, causing a collision.

As a result of the initial crash, the sedan struck the van.

Officials said a 31-year-old passenger of the sedan was taken to the hospital where he died. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the crash report.

Eight other people suffered minor injuries, including three children, who also were not wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
