1 dead after 3-car crash in Volusia County

In a heart-wrenching catastrophic accident, a young mother’s life was tragically cut short, leaving behind her infant son and a grieving family struggling to come to terms with the loss. The incident occurred at U.S. 17 and Privat Road in Seville, Volusia County, and has left the community reeling from the sudden and devastating tragedy.

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that 20-year-old Liliana Escobedo lost her life in a three-car collision at the intersection. The accident took place near a curve on the road, with visible debris still present at the scene as a grim reminder of the fateful morning.

Chopper two captured the aftermath of the crash, showing two of the vehicles involved were severely damaged. The accident unfolded when Liliana attempted to maneuver a curve but, regrettably, failed to return to her lane in time, resulting in a collision with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

The aftermath of the crash led to the closure of the road for approximately four hours as traffic homicide investigators diligently worked to piece together the sequence of events that led to this tragic incident.

In the wake of this devastating accident, the victim’s family, who arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, is left grappling with the profound loss and the uncertain future of Liliana’s infant son. Speaking with reporter Pamela Combs, family members fondly remembered Liliana as an amazing young mother who consistently put her child first.

“As a family, we will make sure to always have that legacy of her name around her son. He’s going to grow up to know what an amazing mother he had,” one family member expressed, emphasizing their commitment to keeping Liliana’s memory alive.

While the family mourns their loss and navigates the uncertainties of the future, they find solace in leaning on each other for support and strength. Their shared goal is to ensure that Liliana is never forgotten and that her impact on their lives continues to be celebrated.

Additionally, Florida Highway Patrol reported that one person from the crash was transported to Halifax Medical Center in Volusia County for medical care. The details of their condition were not disclosed in the report.

The Volusia County community joins the grieving family in mourning the loss of Liliana Escobedo, a young mother whose love and dedication to her child will always be remembered in their hearts.
