1 dead after driver dispute in Ocala ends in shooting, deputies say

A driver dispute in Ocala resulted in a fatal shooting Thursday evening, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were initially called to the 8200 block of SW 49th Avenue Road around 6:05 p.m. regarding a reckless driver.

Deputies were later notified that an altercation between the driver and another individual had led to a shooting, according to MCSO.

MCSO arrived on the scene and located a man who had been shot.

He was transported by Marion County Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The sheriff’s office has taken the shooter into custody, deputies said.

MCSO Major Crimes detectives are continuing to investigate the homicide.
