One person is dead and another is injured after a house fire in Manatee County on Saturday afternoon.

The fire occurred on 53rd Ave. W in Bradenton at around 12:45 p.m., Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue said. Crews were dispatched to the scene with reports of possible entrapment in the home.

Crews arrived within 6 minutes to find heavy black smoke and a fire in the front of the home.

One victim suffered burns to her face and arms and was transferred to a local hospital for treatment. Another victim was located in the home, deceased. Neither was identified by Cedar Hammock.

The fire was contained to the home and extinguished, and was determined to have started unintentionally, officials said.
