One person is dead after a shooting in Seffner Wednesday morning, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Philips Drive around 3:17 a.m. regarding a person who had been shot.

HCSO deputies arrived and found a man on the property with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene, HCSO said.

“Violence has no place in our neighborhoods, and our detectives are committed to uncovering the full truth of what happened,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We urge anyone who saw or heard something, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward and contact us.”

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.
