Tampa woman struck and killed by Kia on I-4 in Lakeland: Florida Highway Patrol

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said a woman was fatally struck by a car on I-4 in Lakeland on Tuesday morning.

FHP said a Kia Forte, driven by a 64-year-old Lakeland woman, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 4 at 2:35 a.m. on Nov. 25.

Near mile marker 27, a 24-year-old Tampa woman walking along the highway entered the path of and was struck by the Kia, per FHP. 

Officials said the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
