One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday in a crash involving a semitrailer on State Road 40 in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. near Deerfly Road.
According to an FHP crash report, a 2002 Cadillac Escalade was heading west on S.R. 40 when the vehicle crossed the center line and began traveling west in the eastbound lane.
The front of the vehicle struck the front of a tractor-trailer that was heading east, troopers said.
The driver of the Cadillac, a 71-year-old Ocklawaha man, was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 49-year-old Colorado man, was uninjured and his passenger, a 25-year-old California man, had minor injuries, according to the crash report.
An investigation is ongoing.
