1 killed, 1 injured in shooting in Coconut Grove

One person died and another was injured during a shooting on Wednesday night in Miami’s Coconut Grove.

According to Officer Michael Vega, a spokesman for the Miami Police Department, the shooting occurred at 3355 SW 37 Ave.

Police officers responded to the shooting after receiving a ShotSpotter alert. Miami Fire Rescue personnel helped one person who later died at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Vega said the person who suffered minor injuries refused treatment.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
