1 person killed in crash along near Micanopy after hitting tree

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say one person was killed in a crash near Micanopy.

FHP troopers say a man died in the crash that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, off NW 219th Street Road, east of NW 51st Court.

Troopers said a 26-year-old man from Reddick drove off the road while trying to go around a curve. That’s when he hit a tree and the car rolled over.

The driver was transported to the hospital where he later died.
