1 seriously hurt in crash that shut down Interstate 95 in Brevard County

A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County sent a person to the hospital and temporarily forced the closure of all northbound lanes near Grant-Valkaria on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. at mile marker 165, involving a Ford Mustang driven by a 24-year-old Boca Raton man, a Dodge Charger driven by a 30-year-old Port Saint Lucie man and a Honda Civic driven by a 35-year-old Palm Bay woman, troopers said.

A passenger of the Honda Civic was hospitalized for treatment of serious injuries, troopers said.

Traffic cameras showed vehicles at a standstill as a helicopter touched down among emergency crews working the scene.

By 10:04 a.m., all lanes had been cleared and traffic was seen to be moving again.
