1 teen shot, another grazed by bullet in Miami

Two teenagers were shot in a shooting Saturday evening in Miami, police said.

A ShotSpotter alert was triggered around 5:40 p.m. near Southwest Seventh Avenue. Responding officers found a shooting scene but no victim, according to Miami police.

A short time later, officers were directed to the area of Northwest 11th Avenue, where they found a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Miami Fire Rescue took her to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition.

Police said the girl was shot on Southwest Seventh Avenue and ran to Northwest 11th Avenue before contacting authorities.

The second teenager, a 16-year-old boy, was possibly grazed by a bullet at the second scene, according to Miami Police.

The shooting remains under investigation.
