A man was killed in a dog attack in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood early Sunday morning.
It happened just before 1 a.m. in the area of Northwest 67th Street and Eighth Avenue.
Miami police said they received 911 calls that the man, in his 30s or 40s, was being attacked by dogs.
When they arrived in the area, they found him dead.
“I really think it’s a bad situation,” neighbor Kevin John said. “I don’t know what happened. But I think it’s really bad.”
Local 10 News was there as animal control officers put several puppies into the back of a van.
John said the dogs frequently cause problems in the neighborhood.
“They always got out (of) the gate. Always got out. Running around and s—,” he said.
Authorities haven’t released the victim’s name or identified what type of dogs attacked him.
In a statement, officials with Miami-Dade Animal Services said they “confiscated 11 dogs that were found on the property with the deceased individual.”
“At this time, it has not been confirmed whether the dogs were involved in the person’s death,” the statement read in part.
