A 13-year-old girl was struck by a car after getting off a school bus in Pasco County Wednesday, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22 as a Pasco County school bus was offloading students near the intersection of East Road and Kodiak Avenue.
The school bus had its lights activated, but a 59-year-old Port Richey man driving a Mercury sedan reportedly failed to stop and struck the teen girl as she was crossing the highway.
Troopers said the teen was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No further information was immediately available.
