A 13-year-old girl riding a bicycle in Brevard County was struck and killed Thursday afternoon by a vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on Aurora Road near Cecilia Street.
The FHP said a Groveland woman was driving a 2013 Dodge Durango west on Aurora Road when the girl was trying to cross the street but was not in a crosswalk.
The Dodge Durango hit the girl, who was taken to Holmes Regional Hospital, where she died, the FHP said.
The woman and her three passengers were not injured and remained at the scene, according to troopers.
