A 14-year-old was arrested in connection with a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy injured on Saturday afternoon.
The teenage suspect was taken into custody on Monday by detectives from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) Criminal Investigations Division. Luckily, the teenage victim is recovering and in stable condition.
The 14-year-old was arrested and booked into the Department of Juvenile Justice for attempted second-degree murder.
Indian River County Sheriff, E F said the shooting was “senseless” and that the teenage suspect is “behind bars when he belongs.”
“Our team spent the weekend investigating this senseless shooting incident,” said Sheriff F. “I’m glad to have Lesesne behind bars where he belongs. Gun violence has no place in our great community especially during the holidays.”
