14-year-old dirt bike rider dies days after crash in Palm Beach Gardens

A 14-year-old has tragically died five days after a crash with a truck at a Palm Beach Gardens intersection.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) crash report states that on November 20, at around 5:30 p.m., the teen was riding an unregistered dirt bike and traveling westbound on Hood Road when he approached the intersection with Eastpointe Boulevard.

According to PBSO, simultaneously, a Toyota Tacoma was headed eastbound on Hood Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Eastpointe Boulevard.

As the teenager entered the intersection, the Toyota turned directly into his path, leading to a collision, the report states.

Officials noted that the Toyota driver managed to brake immediately and stopped at the scene.

Emergency services transported the injured teen to Saint Mary’s Medical Center, where tragically he died five days later.
