A 15-year-old bicyclist is recovering in the hospital after authorities said a vehicle crashed into him in Pinellas County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said this happened just after 7 a.m. Monday, a 21-year-old Redington man was driving eastbound on Colonial Boulevard before being stopped at the intersection of Belcher Road in Palm Harbor.
The 15-year-old bicyclist from Palm Harbor was going southbound along the sidewalk of Belcher Road when the 21-year-old continued driving and hit the teen as he crossed the intersection, FHP said.
The teen was taken to a local hospital, where he is suffering from serious injuries.
The 21-year-old man was charged with failure to yield.
