16-year-old dies after off-road bike hits car in Loxahatchee

 A crash in Loxahatchee on Saturday night claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy driving an off-road bike.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) crash report states that at around 8 p.m., a boy was driving eastbound on a Yamaha off-road bike on 60th Street North, just west of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road.

Officials stated that the boy attempted to pass the car driving in front of him using the westbound lane, moving directly into the path of an Infiniti traveling westbound.

According to PBSO, the boy collided with the Infiniti, throwing him onto the car’s windshield before landing on the grass.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue transported the biker toSt. Mary’s Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officials noted that the Infiniti driver was unharmed.

The crash report states that the boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
