A 16-year-old was transported to a hospital after being injured on Sunday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to a shooting in the area of 12730 Citrus Park Lane around 10:00 p.m. and found a 16-year-old with an upper body injury.
According to HCSO, the teen was not shot; they were injured after falling down.
HCSO said witnesses reported seeing an individual flee into a wooded area.
Deputies searched the area but were unable to find the individual.
