Officers say a teen boy was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle on Tuesday while apparently attempting a stunt.
Gainesville Police Department officers say they responded to reports of a pedestrian versus vehicle crash on Southwest 14th Street, south of 21st Avenue, around 6:15 p.m.
Investigators say a 17-year-old attempted to jump over a moving Chevrolet Camaro and was struck. He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).
Many people were watching the stunt attempt, and officers say several people filmed the incident.
Anyone with additional information was asked to contact Officer Debra Page at 352-393-7744 or pagedj@cityofgainesville.org.
