17-year-old pedestrian injured in Port St. Lucie crash, driver found at fault

A 17-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday afternoon.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) said officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at SE Lennard Road and SE Avalon Road at around 1:39 p.m.

At the scene, police found the teenage victim was conscious and breathing. PSLPD said he was rushed to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce by the St. Lucie County Fire Department.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was found to be at fault and was cited by the investigating officer, police said.
