18-year-old dies when car rear-ends pickup truck in St. Johns County:  Florida Highway Patrol

 An 18-year-old from Hastings died early Monday morning when his car slammed into the back of a pickup truck on State Road 207, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the driver was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the car when it flipped after hitting the truck.

According to FHP, the pickup truck was headed south on SR 207 ahead of the 18-year-old’s car when it was rear-ended just before 2 a.m. Monday near Deerpark Boulevard, about a half-mile from Interstate 95.

The 58-year-old man from Flagler Beach who was driving the pickup truck was not hurt. He was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
