A man and woman were killed by their 19-year-old son late Friday night after an argument escalated into violence.
Deputies responded to a call reporting gunshots on Musket Drive in the city of Satsuma. When they arrived, U, 19, was holding a small child and a gun.
Deputies ordered him to drop the gun and give up the child, and he complied. He was then taken into custody.
His mother, C, 47, was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The teenager’s father, M, 51, was treated by first responders but died at the hospital from a gunshot wound.
Investigators say U got into an argument with his parents and other family members. He started shooting, and the family members attempted to flee.
U is charged with two counts of homicide. He was taken to the Putnam County Jail, where he is held without bond.
He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of firing into a building or vehicle, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of neglect of a child.
