19-year-old crashes stolen car, flees on foot before arrest in Walton County

A 19-year-old Mississippi man has been arrested for driving a stolen vehicle after a pursuit ended in Defuniak Springs.

This evening, deputies were notified of a stolen vehicle out of Mississippi traveling on Highway 90, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they spotted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as M P S Marie, attempted to flee but crashed near the intersection of Live Oak Avenue West and South 22nd Street, according to deputies.

He then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

M has been booked into the Walton County Jail on a 5,000 bond.
