A crash in West Palm Beach on Friday night claimed the life of a 19-year-old driving an off-road bike.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that on Friday at around 8:20 p.m., a teenage boy on a dirt bike was traveling northbound on Military Trail from Belvedere Road near the 1100 block, an area without much street lighting.
Officials stated that a 2013 Toyota Corolla driven by a 32-year-old man from West Palm Beach was traveling southbound on Military Trail, attempting to turn left into the Walmart parking lot.
According to PBSO, when the Toyota took the turn, it entered the teen’s travel path, causing the dirt bike to strike the Toyota’s right front door.
The crash report states that the teenager was thrown from his bike into the Toyota, leaving the teen dead from the impact.
