2 boaters burned after vessel malfunctions in Hernando County

Two people suffered burn injuries after their boat had mechanical issues, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue.

On Sunday, officials responded to the area near Channel Marker 3 off Bayport Park.

When crews reached the disabled vessel, they began ALS medical care on the boaters, as they brought them to shore.

The two victims were taken to a nearby hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to get the stranded boat.
