The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) with a traffic crash involving one vehicle that happened Sunday around 7:20 pm.
The two occupants are critically injured. One victim may succumb to the injuries, deputies say.
Both lanes on Fruitville Road, from Springbrook Farm Road to Oakford Road, are closed.
Motorists are being asked to take alternate routes to avoid the area.
