Deputies are investigating after a multi-vehicle crash left two people dead around 8 p.m. Sunday night.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on Commonwealth Avenue North (State Road 33) near L A Combee Drive north of Polk City.

There are two confirmed deaths, the sheriff’s office said.

Both lanes of Commonwealth Avenue are closed due to the debris field and investigation.

Deputies have not released the cause of the crash.
