Late Friday night, a tragic incident occurred as a wrong-way driver collided with another vehicle, resulting in the loss of two lives, while a third individual remains critically injured. As of now, there is no update available regarding the third man’s condition.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the driver of the first vehicle was traveling in the opposite lane of travel, leading to the collision with the second vehicle.

This devastating head-on collision unfolded around 11:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of southbound U.S. 1 at Highland Drive Southeast in unincorporated Indian River County, near the south county line. The accident involved a black Ram 1500 and a black 2023 Cadillac Escalade sports utility vehicle.
