2 escape car fire uninjured along I-75 near Lee and Charlotte County line

A car burst into flames along southbound I-75 near mile marker 152 on Friday, sparking a grass fire nearby.

Charlotte County Fire and EMS crews were dispatched to the area at approximately 1:15 p.m. Officials said two people were in the sedan and both were able to exit the vehicle without suffering any injuries.

According to Charlotte County Fire and EMS, a small grass fire, approximately 100 yards in size, ignited, but firefighters were able to extinguish it.
