2 force way into St. Pete home, hitting woman with gun: PCSO

Two people were taken into custody and charged after forcing their way into a home and hitting a woman with a gun in St. Petersburg.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3600 block of 49th Avenue North after a reported home invasion around 7:36 p.m. on Monday.

PCSO said the victim told deputies that two men pushed past her and into the home. One struck her in the head with a firearm and then fled.

Both people were taken into custody a short time later.

They have been charged with home invasion robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm, and minor in possession of a firearm.

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
