Two people were hospitalized Friday morning after a “disturbance” between motorists in two separate vehicles ended in a shooting and a crash in Palatka, according to the Palatka Police Department.
Police said the disturbance between the motorists was reported around 5:46 a.m. at the intersection of Laurel Street and Crill Avenue and escalated into a shooting that injured two people.
According to police, their vehicle then crashed into a sign of a local business.
Police said the shooting suspect is in custody.
The police department did not release the names of the victims or the suspect.
The condition of the two people who were hospitalized is unknown.
This is an ongoing investigation.
