A 50-year-old Pensacola man crashed into two trees while attempting to pass another vehicle in Escambia County on Thursday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol says the man was driving a pickup truck on East Quintette Road when he ran off the roadway, traveling over a guardrail around 2 p.m.
According to troopers, the man was trying to get by another vehicle before he eventually hit two trees. He and his 51-year-old female passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle.
The two were taken to the hospital to be treated for their serious injuries, says FHP.
FHP says the crash is still under investigation.
