2 injured after Orlando-bound flight diverts, makes emergency landing due to turbulence.

A Southwest flight scheduled to land in Orlando on Wednesday had to be diverted after experiencing turbulence.

Flight 4273 was coming from New Orleans and was supposed to land in Orlando, but the captain declared an emergency after experiencing turbulence.

The flight had to be diverted to Tampa Bay International Airport and the captain requested paramedics to be available once the aircraft landed for any potential injuries.

Upon landing, two people were taken to a medical facility near the Tampa Bay area.

Southwest said it worked with customers who were impacted by the arrival delay.

According to Southwest, mechanics were able to review the aircraft but no further information on what caused the turbulence was released.
