2 men in argument in Mulberry when gun fires, killing woman in car, Judd says

An argument between two men ended in a woman being shot in the chest, according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Clark, 35, and Jose Coronado, 34, got into an argument early Thursday morning on Levins Road in Mulberry with Mary Dino, 28, in Coronado’s car.

The two were involved in “meth trade” and “gang members” of opposing gangs, according to Sheriff Grady Judd.

Judd stated when Clark went back to his car to de-escalate the situation, Coronado went to his vehicle because “Joshua Clark always carries one.”

According to Judd, Coronado’s gun was discharged and hit Dino in the chest. Coronado then shot at Clark, and the two began shooting at each other.

Coronado left Levins Road and brought Dino to Ryals Road where he left her on the bed of a truck. He told people to take her to a hospital or dial 911, according to Judd.

Dino died due to her injuries, Judd stated.

Coronado had a warrant during the altercation.

After fleeing the scene, deputies located Coronado 15 to 20 miles away on Highway 17 where a pursuit was engaged, and deputies were able to pit the vehicle.

Coronado was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Clark is still at large.
