2 Orlando women killed, 4-year-old critically injured in Collier County crash.

Two women from Orlando were killed and a child in their vehicle was critically injured in a crash early Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the deadly crash happened on State Road 29 and Oil Well Road around 12:16 a.m.

According to an FHP crash report, an SUV was traveling west on County Road 858, also known as Oil Well Road, approaching a stop sign at the intersection of State Road 29.

At the same time, an unspecified type of truck was traveling south on State Road 29, approaching the intersection of Oil Well Road.

Troopers said the SUV entered the intersection and failed to yield to the right of way of the truck. As a result, the front of the truck crashed into the right side of the SUV.

According to the report, both vehicles entered the west grass shoulder and overturned.

The driver and a passenger of the SUV — identified as a 26-year-old Orlando woman and a 52-year-old Orlando woman, respectively — were pronounced dead at the scene. A 4-year-old girl who was also in the vehicle was critically injured and taken to the hospital, the report states.

Troopers said the driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
